American Conservative Journalist and Activist
Laura Elizabeth Loomer, known as Laura Loomer, is a 29-year-old American far-right political activist, white nationalist, and internet personality. She gained recognition as the Republican nominee for Florida's 21st congressional district in the 2020 U.S. House of Representatives election, where she lost to incumbent Democrat Lois Frankel.
Bannings and Controversies
Loomer has a history of being banned from social media platforms for her controversial and extremist views. She was suspended from Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and PayPal due to violations of their policies against hate speech and misinformation.
Notable Actions
In 2017, Loomer gained notoriety for confronting the then-newly elected Democratic representative Ilhan Omar at a congressional hearing, demanding that Omar denounce the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which she labeled a "terrorist organization." She has also been known for her participation in anti-immigration and anti-Muslim protests.
In recent months, Loomer has been involved in a legal battle with the U.S. House of Representatives after being barred from the Capitol for her behavior during the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
