- Too many open apps
- Corrupted files
- Hardware issues
How to Fix a Frozen Kindle
If your Kindle is frozen, there are several things you can try to fix it:
- Restart your Kindle. This is the simplest and often the most effective way to fix a frozen Kindle. To restart your Kindle, press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds, until the screen goes black. Then, release the power button and wait for your Kindle to restart.
- Update your Kindle's software. If restarting your Kindle doesn't work, you may need to update its software. To update your Kindle's software, connect it to a Wi-Fi network and go to Settings > System Update. If there is an update available, follow the prompts to download and install it.
- Close all open apps. If you have too many open apps on your Kindle, it may freeze. To close all open apps, press the Home button and then tap on the X in the upper-right corner of each app.
- Delete corrupted files. If your Kindle's storage is full, it may freeze. To delete corrupted files, connect your Kindle to a computer and go to the "Kindle" folder. Delete any files that you don't need.
- Factory reset your Kindle. If none of the above solutions work, you may need to factory reset your Kindle. To factory reset your Kindle, go to Settings > System > Factory Reset.
If you have tried all of the above solutions and your Kindle is still frozen, you may need to contact Amazon customer support for further assistance.
